Xiaomi 13 Will Have Better Battery Life Than iPhone 14 Pro Max, Says Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun


With Xiaomi set to launch its flagship Xiaomi 13 lineup in China this week, the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, made a big announcement ahead of the official announcement. It surpasses the battery backup of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, said in a Weibo post. The vanilla Xiaomi 13 model is expected to feature a 4,700mAh battery backed by 120W fast charging, media reports.

According to Xiaomi CEO Jun, the phone maker is focusing on “battery life over battery capacity.” He also added that his R&D team at Xiaomi is looking to make the device’s battery last up to two days. He showed test results highlighting that the Xiaomi 13 scored 1.37 for him, higher than his iPhone 14 Pro Max scored 1.28 for the second-placed iPhone 14 Pro Max. Another Xiaomi model of his on this list is the Xiaomi 12S, which in testing he got 1.24.

Meanwhile, recently leaked images of the Xiaomi 13 series side-by-side duo reveal that the devices resemble Apple’s iPhone line.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro was impressive, but the Xiaomi 13 series could be equally disruptive. Note that the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro have partnered with German camera giant Leica to bring major camera upgrades.

Hands-on photos of the Xiaomi 13 series in Notebook Check’s report show that the Xiaomi 13 features a flat display and “very thin bezels”, making it arguably thinner than the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s.
