Mobile phone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 13 series at its annual flagship launch event in China. The Xiaomi 13 series is a second-generation smartphone in collaboration with German camera and lens giant Leica. The Xiaomi 13 series is equipped with new optical and computational capabilities with Leica’s true color imaging and his top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The processor will also power smartphone makers OnePlus, Oppo, Asus Republic of Gamers, Honor, Motorola and others.
Xiaomi has yet to confirm when the two smartphones will be available from China. However, some reports suggest that the Xiaomi 13 series will launch in India early next year.
The Xiaomi 13 series also comes with the company’s latest custom Android skin MIUI 14, which focuses on “convenience and simplicity”. Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 claims to optimize system space occupation and reduce system applications that cannot be deleted to eight. In addition, MIUI 14 offers new widgets, enhanced privacy protection on the device and new features for device interconnection.
The Xiaomi 13 flagship lineup is one of the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile SoC. Vivo has already launched his X90 Pro+ with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Starting at 59,215, the Xiaomi 13 has a starting price of CNY 3,999, or roughly Rs 47,369.
The Xiaomi 13 comes with a flat design that many smartphone OEMs have adopted. Both the 13 Pro and the standard Xiaomi 13 are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The Xiaomi 13 comes with a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate screen, 1,900 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision and HLG support.
The more expensive Xiaomi 13 Pro has a curved 2K display with an LTPO screen for adaptive refresh rate.The Xiaomi 13 Pro sports a triple 50MP camera setup inside a square camera island. The device also features a 50MP telephoto Leica lens and another his 50MP ultra-wide sensor. For charging, the Xiaomi 13 has a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.The Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 4,820mAh battery with 120W charging and 50W Support wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
