116 – WhatsApp to launch ‘Message Yourself’ feature in India

New Delhi: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp on Monday announced that it will launch a new ‘Message Yourself’ feature in India in the coming weeks.

Sending notes, reminders and updates is a one-on-one chat with yourself, the company said in a statement.

WhatsApp allows users to send themselves notes, reminders, shopping lists, etc. to manage their to-do list.

To use this new feature, open the WhatsApp application, create a new chat, then click on a contact at the top of the list to start messaging.

The feature is available on Android and iPhone, and will roll out to all users in the coming weeks,” the company said.

Earlier this month, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Communities for WhatsApp, along with several new features such as 32-person video calls, in-chat voting, and groups of up to 1,024 users.

“We’re launching communities on WhatsApp. We’re making groups better by enabling subgroups, multiple threads, announcement channels, etc. We’re also rolling out voting and 32-person video calls. All end Protected by two-end encryption, your messages remain private,” said Meta’s CEO.
