132 – OnePlus Promises 4 Major Android Updates For Select Models Starting 2023

 

Android smartphone makers haven’t responded to major iOS updates for Apple’s iPhones, but Samsung has stepped up its software update game in the past. Now his OnePlus, the phone maker, has joined Samsung’s bandwagon, announcing four years of his Android software upgrades, up from the previously promised three years of major his upgrades.

Starting in 2023, the smartphone maker has confirmed that it will offer major updates to OnePlus’ own Android custom skin, OxygenOS, for four years. OnePlus says the new software program will take effect from 2023, so the upcoming flagship OnePlus 11 lineup, which is due to launch early next year, will be one of the first OnePlus models to receive four major OxygenOS updates. The OnePlus 11 could also launch Android 13 out of the box, so the device could move to Android 17 with the last major OxygenOS update.
