Cyber thugs open fake account in SSB jawan’s name, even take a loan on that– Read details here

New Delhi: An official of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was duped by cyber thugs who opened a bank account in his name and used his bank details to get a loan of Rs 45,000. The victim, identified as Lavlesh Kumar, is from Pratapgarh and is currently stationed as Javan at his SSB office in Gomti Nagar. Lavlesh learns that someone has opened a bank account in his name at a bank branch in the Naka police station area.

“I only learned about the fake accounts when I went to get a Rs 5 million home loan from a financial company. I was surprised and confused because I had never been in debt,” Kumar said.

“Later, we found out that a fake bank account was opened online and the Adhaar card and PAN card details were used to open the bank account,” he said, adding that the scammers had opened another mobile phone at the bank. I added that I gave the number.

Victims said they found the contact number on their bank account details to be off. “No one contacted me to get my consent to open a fake bank account,” he said.

Lavlesh said the police were not ready to file an FIR, and it was only after Police Commissioner Lucknow’s intervention that an FIR against an unidentified person was registered for the IT Act and misconduct charges.
