New Delhi: As India enters the 5G era, Apple announced Tuesday that 5G cellular support has been enabled for its new iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone SE and iPhone 12 lineups in India.
To use 5G connectivity with Reliance Jio and Airtel on iPhone 12 and newer models, you must update to the iOS 16.2 update. It also includes a myriad of other features.
Apple enabled 5G for some iPhone users in the country last month during the week of its iOS 16 Beta software program.
Apple Airtel and Jio customers who participated in the iOS 16 Beta software program were able to try out 5G.
Apple is “working closely with our carrier partners in India to deliver the best 5G experience to iPhone users once the network has been validated and tested for quality and performance.”
As India rolls out 5G in stages, starting with its major metropolises, smartphone players are working to make 5G available on their devices.
Apple conducts extensive testing with our carrier partners to ensure a great experience for iPhone users.
iPhone gives users lightning-fast downloads and uploads, better streaming, and real-time connectivity with 5G to help them stay in touch, share content, and enjoy themselves.
5G support on iPhone now extends to over 250 carrier partners in over 70 markets around the world, with expanded support for standalone networks.
Prioritizing software upgrades will enable early deployment of 5G in India.
