Apple announced the winners of its 2022 App Store Awards on Tuesday. This year’s App Store Awards winners include 16 apps and games. According to the iPhone maker, this year’s winners represent a diverse community of developers around the world whose apps and games have been selected by the global App Store editorial team. This year’s App Store Award for iPhone App of the Year went to French social media app BeReal.
Launched in 2008, the Apple App Store now has 1.8 million apps. He helped $643 billion in claims and sales in 2020, Apple said.
Other App Store awards went to GoodNotes 5 from Time Base Technology Limited for iPad app of the year and MacFamilyTree 10 from Synium Software GmbH for Mac app of the year. Apple TV App of the Year went to ViX from TelevisaUnivision Interactive, Inc. and Apple Watch App of the Year went to Gentler Streak from Gentler Stories LLC.
“This year’s App Store Award winners have reimagined our experience with apps that offer fresh, thoughtful, and authentic perspectives,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement
“From self-taught solo creators to international teams spanning the globe, these entrepreneurs are making a meaningful impact and represent the way apps and games impact our communities and lives.” added Cook.
When it comes to games, Apex Legends Mobile takes the top spot as iPhone Game of the Year, Moncage is the most popular among iPad users, and Inscryption is the top Mac game of 2022. Apple TV’s El Hijo was the most liked, and Wylde Flowers won the Apple Arcade Game of the Year award. League of Legends esports manager became China his game of the year.
Apple’s App Store editors also selected five Cultural Impact winners who have made a lasting impact on people’s lives and influenced cultures, according to the press release. Five cultural impact winners include How We Feel, Dot’s Home, Locket Widget, Waterllama, and Inua- A Story in Ice and Time.
